Second Life Press Release Service Opened

Those that I've been lucky to meet and talk with in Second Life know that I created a Second Life project matching service after needing one myself and not finding one available. Once again, when I went looking this time for a Second Life-specific press release service my search came back empty. Thus, I am happy to announce that I have opened SL Pulse (www.SLPulse.com), a free press release and announcement service for residents of Second Life.

I am aware that there are several fine Second Life news service sites available for Second Life residents. I'd feel lost without checking out Metaversed first thing in the morning. However a press release service is meant to serve a different function than a news service. SL Pulse is meant to serve as a clearinghouse of press releases and announcements submitted directly by Second Life residents. Submitting your press release or announcement to individual news sites can be hit or miss. The news site may have other news in mind for that week's publication and you might miss some news sites that would like to pick up your news. I hope that SL Pulse will be a helpful tool that will let residents get their announcements posted quickly and allow Second Life news services to find news and content to add to their site that they might have otherwise missed.

In addition to the press release service, I've added a calendar area to the site. Here, people can announce and add their Second Life events to the calendar instantly, and well ahead of the time of the event. While the calendar service might appear to duplicate the events listing on the official Second Life website, I felt it might be useful if people could add their event to a calendar and submit an announcement on the same web site.

Whether you are announcing a large corporation's entry into Second Life or simply want people to know about a new dress you have for sale in your Second Life store, you are invited to add your news instantly to the front page of the site and your event to the site's event calendar.

Please come by and share your press release, news, and event announcement. You'll find it very simple to do, however, if you have any questions or require assistance with using the service, please feel free to IM me, PK Otoole, in Second Life or simply use the contact form provided on the site.
