Metaversed Community Guidelines

Whether you're a registered member of Metaversed, or just leaving an anonymous comment on one of the stories or blog posts, there are a few things we'd like you to bear in mind. We don't actually expect you to read this, but if we ever have to nuke something you've said, we'll glady point you here and say "see, told you so!" M'kay?

Do's and Don'ts for Posts, Comments and General Participation

  • Please play nice, Metaversed members are valued above all else. Spirited debate is cool, rudeness and disrespect is most certainly not.
  • When quoting from other websites, please use the minimum "fair use" amount of text needed to illustrate a point and lets avoid any potential copyright issues
  • Self promotion is not generally welcome. If you want to advertise here, we expect to be paid. You are most welcome to use your profile to advertise your business, just not spam the discussion list with promos
  • If you wish to discuss an edit, these guidelines, or anything falling under the rough description of "moderation issues" please take it up with Nick in private. You can email nick@metaversed.com anytime. We do this because naval gazing communities bore us to tears.
  • No whining.

A Couple of Legal Bits

  • All posts belong to the posting member, the views expressed by members on Metaversed.com do not necessarily reflect the views of this website or its owner.
  • We reserve the right to change these guidelines at any time, and to act without necessarily having to refer to them.

Those last points just mean this: If the shit hits the fan, it's your fault not ours, and if we see something that needs removing or editing or whatevering but it isn't covered here in the guidelines, we're going to do it anyway.

In reality, none of this stuff ever really happens. You have to put something like this in place for the 2 or 3 people that feel they can't participate without set guidelines, and to very occasionally, point folks to when lines are crossed.

Most of the time people are just cool though, and so are we. If you have any issues, ever, email Nick at nick@metaversed.com

Thanks.
