Virtual Worlds Podcast #1 - The Very First Episode, Almost

We're very pleased to announce the first of a new series of podcasts on Metaversed.com today, the Virtual Words Podcast with Caleb Booker. You can find the new podcast at VirtualWorldsPodcast.com where each week Caleb and I take a look at the biggest stories in Virtual Worlds and 3D collaborative spaces. This first episode was recorded on Sunday July 29th 2007, and is, if you want to get all picky about it, actually the third podcast Caleb and I have done together :)

Let us know what you think!

This doesn't get an article of its own, but there has been much more news on the Ginko end. Apparently they own 33% of the WSE, there's speculation that they don't actually have assets to liquidate, and there was a big blowup between them and another IPO... oh, and the official AVIX press release that they aren't making a statement so that everybody can excitedly blaze the headline: NEWSFLASH: NO COMMENT!

To be honest, I'm done with all of this. Metaversed has to be about things that influence virtual worlds, not drama. We've already concluded here that these exchanges and this "bank" aren't functional or trustworthy. Let's put it all aside for now, focus on the movers and the up-and-comers, and report back about Ginko, WSE and AVIX if/when they begin to get it together.

Agreed, we mentioned attention spans on the podcast, and for this, mine's way past it's limit lol!

Screenshots and technology...

Just wanted to post a few quick responses to your Twinity discussion. We'll have some screenshots later this week or next. I'll post them on our site and send you copies as well. Also, the other 3D tool for modeling items is 3DSMax.

Hi Nick and Caleb,

Just a minor nit. I listen to a LOT of podcasts and they all have this extremely annoying driving music at the top. I HATE it. I immediately reach for the vloume knob and crank it down. Ungh.

Please. Please. Could you use something a bit more ear friendly.

Besides that, you guys rock.

Cheers,
Doug Turner

Lol! it seems to be a theme in all of our podcasts here Douglass :)

Great podcast. I really appreciate you guys going the extra step here to formalizing this.

One minor thing: in Webkinz, you can NOT sign up for a subscription after your first free year is up. The only way to extend your subscription is to buy another pet. $15US for the plush, once a year, isn't bad though.

I think the CryEngine2 tech demo you were looking for is this one:
