Second Life Gears up for Voice with Speech Animation Contest

Tagged:  •

In June, the virtual world of Second Life will be voice enabled. At least it will be for those landowners willing to pay the premium, and those residents willing to vocally bare all. In preperation, Heretic Linden, a new Linden Lab employee, has kicked off a resident contest for speech animation - you know, like when your lips move when you speak. SL already has speech gestures built into the beta client, but there's no shortage of talented animators out there and Linden clearly think they can tap community resources to improve the default set.

If you want to get your entries included, submit by the 7th of May to Heretic Linden.

Grat Is it just me or have voice features disappeared from the latest upgrade to the beta grid.

I go with "Second Talk" headset HUD for now - launches Skype running parallel from with SL interface. Still beta.
