Work has begun to set up our first virtual world test space for Project Metaversed. This is a collaborative effort to explore networked virtual environments and push the boundaries of possibility with virtual world technology.
We're actively seeking partners, sponsors and volunteers to help us start creating new virtual spaces from Open Source and inexpensive, installable worlds. The goal of the project is to pool skills and resources to better understand how 3D environments can benefit enterprise, education and every day people of all kinds.
Be a part of Project Metaversed!
Metaversum has helped start us up by kindly providing servers and tech help, and you can still become a part of the project as well! Currently we are looking for:
- Support from interested companies (technical help, hardware, software)
- Volunteers with technical skills (server engineers, web developers)
- Volunteers with writing skills (technical docs, blogging skills)
- Project managers with a mix of both technical and writing skills, as well as some experience in project management
- Sponsors - (this all has to be funded!)
If any of those sound like something you can do contact nick@metaversed.com.
You can track our progress more closely at www.metaversed.org, or project.metaversed.com.
I'd love to get involved in testing and comparing the capabilities of various virtual worlds for music and sound.
