Great podcast. You guys sure know the industry.
With regards to citypixel.com, the big feature would be the customization of apartments and office cubes. We're all about giving people tools to express themselves graphically. I mean really using the pixel art medium to differentiate themselves.
That said, if you're into gaming, or videos, you can build your space around our gaming consoles, or various TVs linked to YouTube.
The service is free, and the more you login, the more pixels (our version of currency) you accumulate. The more you use the site, the easier it is to get items in the various stores in the city, which just helps users differentiate themselves more.
We're working on audio features, and a few widgets to port a piece of citypixel.com into another site, but I don't want to elaborate right now :-)
Thanks for checking us out, and I hope you continue to keep tabs on us!

Ok, I didn't do my homework properly about CityPixel.com and that was a little unfair. A few things about CityPixel for those interested:
- it may be 2.5D, and it may use the browser, but it is a FULL SCREEN interface
- yep, YouTube integration and customizeable living spaces
- Lots of 20 and 30-something users
- it's bright and shiny! I know, I know, that's a bit of a silly thing to say... but compared to other worlds of the same type it's actually a bit of a releif to see an environment with nice colors for a change
Hi, can you do something about the sound (and especially the level of both your voices), The sound level of Nick is not very load compared to Caleb's sound level. This way it is not a good listening experience.
Agreed. sorry about that.
Will do a test listen before we continue with the next one..
With regard to the Torque engine and multiple users, it can handle a fair number of users and the proof is in the pudding...
vSide
uses a heavily modified verson of the Torque Engine
here is the evidence...

Now that's cool
Also check out the fact that you can mix the Torque Engine with a free
tool kit to create your own MMO... Check it out at ...

(PS, as far as i can tell the guys at Doppelganger did not use this kit though)
Tha'ts great, thanks Argyle!
