Despite both Philip Rosedale and Mitch Kapor, CEO and Chairman respectively of Linden Lab, the company that produces Second Life saying that voice would "be live within a few months" at recent live sessions at the Life 2.0 convention, Voice support in SL will go live this month. May 23rd if all goes according to schedule, and it's set to divide residents right from the start - trans gender Avatars and Furries are screwed, but in time it should iron out and provide a much richer environment for residents.
Are you ready for voice?
That it is in the current beta doesn't mean it will be in the 1.16 release on the 23rd. Often features got pushed back or where planned for a longer beta.
It can be though, but It isn't a given.
Im with you Frans. The Linden blog announcement seemed pretty confident it would be in though...
