On Thursday this week we recorded the pilot episode of Metaversed Live, a new weekly panel event in Second Life where virtual worlds experts, technologists and friends of Metaversed's gather to talk about current issues in virtual worlds in front of a live audience. All went fairly smoothly, and a lot was learnt from this initial epsiode so I hope you enjoy it!
The panels are recorded and streamed live via our Talkshoe page which is also where you can signup for a talkshoe PIN and join the discussion by calling into the numbers on the page.
Many thanks to our excellent guests this week!
- Tish Shute - UgoTrade
- Jeff Barr - Amazon
- Jacob Sullivan - i3D
- Giff Constable - Electric Sheep Company
- John Lopez - Time Warp Technologies
- Brian Foley - Sun Microsystems
Stay tuned to Metaversed.com for details of next thursday's Metaversed Live.
Podcast sounds pretty nice at first glance...but consider some transcoding options, please! 60MB for a one hour podcast is HARSH. Some of us have lots of subscriptions. *grin* I think it's worth subscribing to, though....thanks!
What would you suggest?
Great stuff as usual ..
I think the voice thing is going to sort itself out.. and throws up so many positive possibilities.. it has to be worth the initial struggles.. the guys from Vivox seem very open to suggestions about how it could be improved - and the large amounts of changes to the interface we saw through its beta development are encouraging as to how it could change in the near future.. Yes, a simple "flatten audio" button would sort out the recording issue i think.
I have to say that I agree with Tish, LL are juggling so many balls here .. and thats why i think they are creating such an interesting tool.. the freeform experimental way they have proceeded with the whole thing has been great.. they dont need to sort out all the problems.. things just need to progress steadily - which they are. As one panelist said in this discussion - in a similar way to mosiac was for the early web.. SL is just one of many tools forming its next phase of evolution..
